by Rob Schackne
Sitting on the porch waiting for the rain to stop I dream of poems, then a lifetime of travel one dream after another riding here to there all the villages we passed the kind words & laughter the art of captivity how far do you go the horses were impassive we might've turned back
Written after I’d just finished Ha Jin’s excellent and very evocative recent biography of Li Bai, the great 8th century Tang dynasty poet.
