This glint

Anne Elvey

                adrift on wind
          anchored by stem

what shift into
                              sway
                                                  life agrees

                amid the savour
          of quiet dry

a moment
                         between
                                       La Niña’s humid

                granting and avian
          orchestration for

this days’
                                       tangent
                                                    to a holy

                when i breathe
          the thin curve

of non-belonging &
                                        turn
                                                  to cherish

                without expectation
          of return

when bodies
                                query
                                           what openness

                it takes in the
          already-taken

to be a visitor who is carefully at leaf
